Sagent declared leader in Japanese ETL market

MIC Research Institute Business Software 2000 reveals Sagent Data Load Server as the premium Extraction, Transformation and Load solution in Japan with more than 38 percent market share in 2000

Sagent, a leading provider of Business Intelligence solutions, today announced that Sagent Data Load Server is recognized as the premium extraction, transformation and load (ETL) tool, which delivers key information to decision-makers throughout the enterprise, in Japan. An evaluation of the Japanese ETL tool market by MIC Research Institute Ltd., an independent research firm in Japan, recently revealed Sagent's domination of that local ETL market because of Sagent's increased market share and customer base in 2000.

According to the MIC Research Institute evaluation, Sagent's Data Load Server is "a leader of the emerging ETL tool market in Japan." Additionally, the report stated, "along with its OLAP capability, Sagent is expanding its customer base, especially in the large enterprise market."

The study reported that Sagent captured more than 38 percent of the Japanese ETL market in 2000 based on sales of the Sagent Data Load Server. Meanwhile, Sagent's competitors in Japan achieved only single-digit to mid-teen market share. The study also stated that the Japanese ETL market is growing at a faster rate than any other business intelligence category there. Year-to-year growth of the Japanese ETL market was logged at more than 88 percent in 2000, and it is expected to grow another 50 percent in 2001, according to MIC Research Institute.
