Completely Web integrated data warehousing is now available to users of IBM's DB2 Universal database with the new Sagent Solution V4.1 now offering full support for the DB2. Paul Murphy, sales and marketing director at Sagent SA says: "This means that IBM clients can leverage their technology investment, using the enterprise-strength DB2 Universal database combined with Sagent's integrated Web-enabled business intelligence solution."

The Sagent Solution is an integrated software platform for acquiring, organising and distributing information to business users over the Web. DB2 Universal database is the industry's first multimedia, Web-ready relational database management system, strong enough to meet the demands of large corporations and flexible enough to serve medium-sized and small businesses.

With more than one million DB2 server licenses and 40 million users, IBM is the market share leader in the worldwide database industry according to Dataquest, a unit of GartnerGroup. Murphy sees this addition to Sagent Solution's list of supported databases as further evidence of Sagent's drive to provide integration with all leading relational databases and to ensure that customers have access to leading edge solutions. "The Internet is going to be a major business driver. Sagent's ability to deliver using advanced software like IBM's DB2 Universal database is further evidence of Sagent's commitment to supporting its customers' business strategies with the best technology."
